Cape Coral Restaurants Windows on the Water, Sanibel
This Cape Coral restaurant packages lots of great things about the area into one location – a beach with gulf access, a fine dining experience and great sunsets. We often take our visitors from the great white north to Windows on the Water as it showcases the beauty and benefits of our area.
While there are fun and delicious restaurants on Sanibel, we haven’t found many great on-the-water-dining establishments there. Windows on the Water restaurant is the exception and it is tucked away in the Sun Dial resort.
They have a wonderful spread for their Sunday brunch buffet that has something for everyone and our kids really like it. It is also a nice place for a delicious dinner with a view of the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico.
They were closed for well over a year after Hurricane Charlie and changed everything in the remodeling – including the menu. We enjoyed our one dinner there since then but have mostly gone for the Sunday brunch.
If you want to go from Cape Coral to the beach on Sanibel, but you don’t want to boat there or deal with finding parking - here’s our solution. Put your swimsuit under you clothes and dine at Windows on the Water restaurant. When you are done, walk out back to enjoy their beach.
The pool area is available for resort guests only.
Note that there is a $6 toll going onto Sanibel Island and peak season traffic (January to April) can double the usual travel time of the approximately 18 mile trip.
