Cape Coral Vacation Rentals Best Rental Websites
The very best place to look for Cape Coral vacation rentals is on the internet. If you have found my site, I figure you can probably find the top sites by yourself with a simple search.
However, not all sites offer the same features so this page will tell you where to look if you want to narrow your search by date, feature, pet friendliness, types of payment accepted, etc.
My favorite site for ease of use and complete listings is
HomeAway.
I consider HomeAway to be the most convenient and user friendly site. With 298 homes listed (as of April 22, 2008), it also has the most area homes found on any one website.
On the home page you can search by region, dates available or your exact search terms. If you are new to looking at vacation rentals, I recommend you simply type in “Cape Coral” under “Find a Vacation Rental” then click “Search”. This brings up all the homes listed on HomeAway in the area. From here you can select from a list of features to the left of the listings to narrow your search.
If you use the interactive map, note that each site names the Cape Coral region slightly different - from Southwest Florida to South Gulf Coast. When in doubt, choose the region that includes Ft. Myers and Naples.
Sites in the HomeAway network that offer the same convenient sort features but less complete listings (ie. fewer area homes) include:
Note that an unfiltered search (when you simply come to all Cape Coral homes), using any of the above websites, will show you listings in order of the most actively managed first. For you, the renter, this means that the properties on the first pagesmost up-to-date listings.
Confused? As a property owner this means that to keep my two properties with boats on the top two pages of homes listed (out of up to 12 pages of homes), I have to update my availability calendar weekly. Vacation homes on page 12 and the pages in between are more static listings whose owners do not update their information as often. You can see the date of the last update to any availability calendar by clicking on the link to availability and looking for the words “last updated” above the upper left hand side of the calendar.
Other websites that offer a slightly different selection of homes include:
a HomeAway site,
Vacation Rentals,
a HomeAway site,
Value Vacation Rentals,
and
YouTube.
I advertise on all of the sites listed above, and a few others. My review of these sites is based on my personal experience of them as a property owner AND as a renter. Note that there are many other interesting, but less comprehensive (ie. fewer homes listed), sites such as
Gulf Coast Rentals
and
Rentalo
When you do a Google or Yahoo search for Cape Coral vacation rentals, like any other web search, it will bring up hundreds of listings. Of these, some are individual home owners,
like me,
with one or two houses to offer, or big management companies, like
Caldwell Banker
or
Cape Coral Florida Vacation,
with 10 to 40 homes under their management. These sites typically offer more details, but less sort features.
Regardless of how you search for your rental, I suggest you review my suggestions on
how to select the best property for your family,
first.
