Best Cape Coral Restaurants - India Palace

If you are looking for a Cape Coral area restaurant that offers a change of pace with little or no wait, try India Palace. Their service is excellent and the food is good, unpretentious and flavorsome.

I discovered India Palace about four years ago when I went for lunch there with some friends. They do a very brisk lunch business as their portions are generous and delicious.

Our dishes were offered mild, medium or hot and all but one of us chose medium. I have never tried the hot and never intend to after watching my friend who opted for her lunch “hot”. Oh, my! Her entire face got flushed and she gulped down both of her neighbor’s glasses of water before our waitress had a chance to refill her glass!

I was so impressed with that lunch that Dave & I went back the next week.

What a surprise to find a restaurant with tables available during the dinner hour – during the peak season! We have been regular dinner customers since then and have never had to wait. The only explanation I can think of is that India Palace is off the beaten path and someone has to tell you of its existence for you to find it. No matter what the reason, once YOU find it, you will want to go back.

Dave and I really enjoy their dinner for two. It is a great value at $40 with amazing soup and an appetizer platter to start. We have tried many things off their main entrée menu and found them all to be savory. However, their lamb korma (medium, of course) is our favorite. It is served with rice and nann bread. We splurge and add kashmiri nann and relish every bite. To finish off the meal for two, there is some sort of bread-ball-thing in light honey syrup. It is the perfect end to a wonderful meal.

I took my mom, sisters and niece to India Palace for lunch to celebrate my 40th birthday in 2005, and they all loved it. Even my 16 year-old niece from northern Minnesota who is a food coward (she usually orders a hamburger)!

We have never taken our boys to this restaurant. While they enjoy the satay I make at home using curry, for some reason we have never yet introduced them to dining out on Indian food. So little time, so many good restaurants!
